Reflection - Of all the skills I have developed as an IT Professional, the most substantial of them has been that of the database designer. I believe the heart of any application is in the design of its underlying data. Abstraction of business entities and business rules and its reflection in the data design is a critical skill that enables both effectiveness and efficiency in application development.
