Goal
     --> NSCC: Build Support for Program Renewal

Reflection - I will build support and appreciation for the Program Review and Renewal Process among faculty as well as senior Academic Services and Schools managers by providing high-value decision-making information, advice, and strategic support.

Roles: Educational Consultant, Educational Technologist, Mentor/ Teacher, Project Manager (Academic), Researcher
Nearly all of the roles for which I have listed competencies contribute to my ability to achieve this goal. This goal will require that I take a strategic approach to supporting Schools in a way that will help them see the value of rigorous program review and renewal. To accomplish this I will need to be an effective problem-solver, technologist, teacher and project manager.

Challenges: There are some key points of resistance and many diverse attitudes about this process.
Legacy may be difficult to overcome because program renewal has had a negative connotation in the past while its implementation has been inconsistent in recent years.

Action Plan: Deliver early returns through a strong report of 2009 renewal activity.
Provide discussion of the process - how it will evolve to ensure delivery of value to Schools.
Collect and document opinions of current perceived value.
Engage stakeholders in the process of development
Overcome pessismism through continued proof of efficacy
Develop presentations and other materials to promote and inform the college community of the impact of the process
Collect updated opinions during end of year process in May 2010 and compare to earlier comments.
